Hi Steve thanks for visiting Kilcowera and writing about us. When you next visit I hope that you can stay a little longer as we have many other wetland areas and other tracks through the property that you did not see. One in particular goes out west from the house to a wetland area and then winds through lots of mulga country where Halls Babblers have been seen by Graeme & Pam Chapman.
It is shaping up to be a good spring with 2 lots of rain since you were here the only trouble is the road is closed now! Shouldn't be for long though. The Senna bushes are flowering, Eremophila, Bloodwoods and Myoporum also starting to flower. I have noticed more Major Mitchells around (they like the Myoporum berries) and also Cockatiels feeding on the ground. We should start to see an influx of honey eaters with all the Eremophilas flowering soon. Cheers Toni
Hi..as far as I know they are present all year round. They don't exactly wander around the campsites. I have always found them further down towards the point. They are very shy.
Cheers Steve
Great photo here...
I've heard from a lot of people that you can find this one at Inskip point....
Do they wander around the campsites all the time, or just present at certain times of the year???
Thanks
Thanks Steven, I really enjoyed your trip! Great shots as well. I'm heading off on September 1st for 12 months and I'll hopefully stop at all the places you have mentioned. Hope my luck is as good as your's was although I doubt my photography skills are quite there yet.
