This pelagic was organised by Chris Lester who was unfortunately not able to participate on the day. No official counts were made and a trip report was not produced for Birding-aus. However, it was an excellent day out with good weather and many good birds recorded. Highlights for me were Mottled Petrel (at least three birds seen); and Buller's Shearwater (two sightings, probably the same bird). The most abundant birds were Shy Albatross, Short-tailed Shearwater, and White-chinned Petrel. Also seen were Grey-backed, White-faced, and Wilson's Storm Petrel; good numbers of Campbell, Buller's and Wandering Albatross. Also Northern Giant Petrel, Brown Skua and Australasian Gannet.
