After 3 hours watching the Lunar Eclipse the sun finally rose and I could set out to find some birds...

Orange Chat (Epthianura aurifrons)	15	Several around the site but most birds at EP10
Spotless Crake (Porzana tabuensis)	1	Sneaking around in the swamp to the west of EP10
Buff-banded Rail (Gallirallus philippensis)	1
Australian Crake (Porzana fluminea)	1
Seabirds	1 species
Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica)	3	An adult and two juveniles

June 16, 2011 : A morning at Alice Sewage Ponds

A nice morning poking around the Alice Springs Sewage Ponds turned up some great birds. The west end of Pond EP10 was the most productive today: a dozen orange chats, a trio of gull-billed terns, several Australian Crake and Buff-banded Rail were all good but for me the highlight was a shy nervous Spotless Crake.
