Jahnke's Lagoon - Lockyer Valley

Jahnke's Lagoon is a great site for migratory shorebirds in the summer. While mostly it has Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, every now and then something really rare turns up. It is also good for other waterbirds.

Getting There

The road here is very narrow, and so are the road verges, so try to park as far off the road as you can manage without putting your car into a ditch. The lagoon itself is private property so please observe the birds from the roadside. A telescope will be very useful to view waders at this site.
